FrocKit 94A - Simplicity 9141 Dress view A has a shirred bodice, shoulder ties and a tiered skirt. The poly cotton 1/2" gingham check is lightweight, and perfect for warmer weather.
View A is the longer length option for this pattern, but we think that the combination of fabric and pattern would look equally good in the shorter version. The option is yours as our kit comes with enough fabric to make either of the looks in this pattern.
The gingham fabric lends itself very well to constructing this garment as the pattern on the fabric acts as a guide for doing the shirring, which saves your time and effort. The method in the pattern requires you to sew the binding down onto the bodice to act as a channel to hold the elastic that is threaded through. If you are familiar with using shirring elastic in your bobbin to create the same effect, this would be a much easier way to complete the dress. There are several tutorials on line that show you how to use shirring elastic if you would like to try that method, especially the tutorial from By Hand London.
